Gigabit Power Ethernet merges high-speed data transfer with electrical power delivery over a single standard Ethernet cable. This synergy eliminates the need for separate power adapters and data lines, streamlining installations for IP cameras, wireless access points, and VoIP phones. Traditional Fast Ethernet PoE utilized only two pairs for data and two for power, but Gigabit operation requires all four pairs for full-duplex data flow. Advanced circuitry injects direct current onto the same wires carrying high-frequency signals without interference, thanks to magnetic isolation and differential signaling.
